I have been without internet...

and I actually was able to get things accomplished around the house. I also felt very disconnected from the world. I couldn't get maps, check the weather, or get emails. Most important is that I knew that I was missing out on some good blog reading!!!! It's not very big and of course I managed the old school way, but the internet (with DSL) is now a part of my everyday use.

Would loosing the internet shake your world? Would you notice? and how?

I think if I didn't have to have it at work I would miss it more.

I am SOOOOOO SORRY you were without the net. Yes, I would lost my mind if I didn't have the internet. How did we survive before it?

Um, who would I talk to all day? My kids? Surely you jest. Nah, I'm kidding. But I would freak out without my internet. I talk to my family and friends and other foster parents and do training and shopping and pay bills and basically live my life online. I feel like a limb has been taken when we are without for a few days.

Life existed before the computer and internet...but it is a vague memory. The internet has become my lifeline to the rest of the world. I can see pictures of my kids and grandkids, that I miss out on, and keep in touch even though there is so much distance between us all. I think we are disconnected in many ways because we live such busy lives, but connect when we can, superficially through the net. That being said, I can get virtually any information I need without leaving my home, and I can do it in my jammies!!! What a great life.

How DID people live without it?

BJ would very literally DIE if he lost the internet for more than a day. I really only use it to check e-mail and blogs but could survive even without that for a bit.
